Everybody loves rides at the fair, right? They're fun, they make you whoop and shout, you spin around and get dizzy and have a terrific time. Here's the story of a ride I was taken on by a scammer. The only thing I have, this close to the end of the ride, is a very upset stomach. Luckily they have those buckets by the exit gate..

I was scammed out of a Mr Accessory by King Arthur (#630130). This account is in collusion with Kill05 (#440953) and King Arthur2 (#683138), as there are at least 2 people who have access to all three accounts. Around 5 March 2007, King Arthur (KA) asked to borrow a Mr Accessory so he could pick up the March IOTM, the Dandy Lion Cub. Though I was unemployed at the time, I agreed, because I'd recently become slightly flushed with a little cash and had parlayed it into a couple extra Mr Accessories. When I spoke with KA, he agreed that he would pay the Mr A back by the end of the month. I took him at his word, because we were on friendly terms at the time (KA and Kill05, both understood by me to be primarily KA's accounts, were in my clan), and I had no reason to think he would deceive me.

On 17 March 2007, I received a Kmail from a concerned 3rd party Loather asking for my assistance in rectifying a matter that one of her clanmates had with KA. This clanmate lent a Mr Accessory and approx 3-5 million meat to KA months previous; when the issue was brought up with KA, he apparently /baleeted (placed on ignore) each of the two Loathers. I was asked to step in and see if I could come up with some sort of solution. When I pressed the issue with these interested parties, that sparked an argument with both of them which resulted in my booting them both out of my clan.

On 1 April, I talked to KA, who was only too happy to discuss the then-IOTM. When I pressed the issue, he lied to me about when to expect repayment of the Mr A. Discussions followed for approximately 5 weeks, by which point I had been told a variety of excuses for why the Mr A wasn't returned yet - everything from "it wasn't me that asked to borrow it, it was the other person who has access to my account" to "it's been a hard week, I don't want to deal with this right now."

I gave KA a final ultimatum: return my Mr A by 15 May, or I report him to the scammer sites. Waiting in my inbox on KoL today was this:

"Hoy. How are you? Bah, anyways I can't get it to you today, but I can get it to you on friday. That is a promise."

Upon request, I have documentation that's viewable. I am currently in the process of editing the documentation to remove real-world names and references, and expect to have these items placed in a few days, as time allows.

UPDATE: 30 May: King Arthur returned the Mr Accessory to me today, and so his debt with me is now officially over. Let this page serve as a warning to others not to be taken in on promises that cannot be kept.
